Instructor of Criminal Justice (Tenure Track)
The School of Business and Professional Careers seeks a highly motivated and energetic full-time instructor to teach a variety criminal justice courses, including Introduction to Criminology and Research Methods in Criminal Justice. In addition to a teaching load of 15 contact hours per semester and 5 office hours per week, faculty members are expected to actively participate in departmental, school, and college-wide committees and activities and demonstrate continuous professional development.
Requirements:
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: A minimum of a Master's degree in Criminology or Criminal Justice and one year of teaching experience are required. Innovative and enthusiastic professionals with demonstrated experience in instructional technology and student-centered approaches to course and program development, as well as strong organizational and communication skills, are encouraged to apply. All candidates must have evidence of responsiveness to and understanding of the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability, gender identity, sexual orientation, and ethnic backgrounds of community college students, as these factors relate to the need for equity-minded practice within the classroom.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: A Ph.D. in Criminology or Criminal Justice is strongly preferred along with a minimum of five years experience working within the criminal justice system.
