Restaurant Manager
We are currently seeking a full-time Restaurant Manager for a new restaurant located in Waikiki Market, opening this fall in the Lilia Waikiki.
About the Store:
Waikiki Market is coming to the Lilia Waikiki this fall! Designed to be a destination for visitors and locals alike, the 27,000 sq. ft. Waikiki Market will showcase Hawaii’s favorite foods through various prepared food venues and will include a restaurant/bar on the 1st and 2nd floors. Waikiki Market will be the only full-service grocery store in the Waikiki area and will present Hawaii’s diverse culture and passion for great food through its offerings.
Job Summary:
The Restaurant Manager plays a vital role in ensuring an exceptional, high quality experience for guests, while also running a highly efficient, sales-driven and profitable food establishment. The Restaurant Manager will work with the management team to create and ensure execution of an outstanding dining experience centered around the delivery of outstanding dishes, and a well curated beverage offering including beer, wine and craft cocktails. The Restaurant Manager will be responsible for anticipating guests’ needs and serving them with aloha while also driving sales, managing expenses and maximizing profitability.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Coordinate daily Front of the House and Back of the House restaurant operations.
- Accountable for meeting budgets for the restaurant, working with management team.
- Manage weekly restaurant labor schedules for production and service, meeting staffing criteria/guidelines and labor budgets by utilizing forecasting tools.
- Manage and maintain restaurant systems and tools: order guides, inventory sheets, prep lists, shrink logs, schedules.
- Hire, coach, counsel and conduct performance evaluations of direct reports.
- Develop service standards and sequence for efficiency, productivity and guest experience.
- Works with the marketing team to employ and implement strategies to promote and grow following on Instagram and other social media.
- Take on new assignments with an eager and helpful demeanor.
- Responsible for proper ordering and inventory control.
Qualifications:
- 5+ years of proven work experience as a Restaurant Manager, Restaurant General Manager, Hospitality Manager or similar role.
- Degree in Business Administration; hospitality management or culinary schooling is a plus.
- Extensive food and beverage (F&B) knowledge, with ability to remember and recall ingredients and dishes to inform customers and wait staff.
- Passionate about food and beverage with great palette and sense of presentation.
- Familiarity with restaurant management software, like OpenTable and NCR Silver Pro.
- Detail-oriented with good organizational skills, performing work accurately and efficiently while meeting deadlines.
- Demonstrated excellent communication skills, both oral and written.
- Demonstrated effective leadership skills including delegation skills.
- Possesses administrative skills: knowledge of spreadsheet, database, word processing programs, general office equipment: copier, fax, scanner.
- Willingness to be open, to learn and take on new responsibilities.
- Able to lift 50 lbs. repeatedly.
- Ability to work flexible schedule including weekend and holidays in order to accommodate business levels.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Must comply with all company policies and requirements including the COVID-19 vaccination policy.
- TB Clearance required.
