Educational Counselor
Provides financial, academic, personal and career counseling for Talent Search participants; assesses student's needs and prepares Participants Evaluation Plans; conducts study and test-taking workshops; and identifies, recruits, and selects participants.
Position will work with schools in the Cedar Rapids area as part of the Cedar Rapids Community Schools Talent Search program.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in education, social services, counseling, or related field; at least two years of experience working with individuals from low-income and first-generation backgrounds in an educational setting; and at least one year of experience counseling low-income and first-generation individuals to enter/re-enter a secondary/postsecondary educational program required.
