Graduate Program Coordinator
The Graduate Program Coordinator (GPC) works with and through others, building and maintaining relationships, and creates success within established guidelines of the unit, program objectives and funding limitations. The GPC must be aware of and responsive to students' needs and concerns in a service-oriented work environment with professional communication and confidentiality. The GPC is part of a larger team working together to provide the best student service to build and maintain strong relations with students and internal customers. Primary responsibilities include graduate student recruitment, graduate student support, faculty support, large and small-scale event coordination, data tracking and analysis and execution of communications and daily operations of assigned programs.
Specific duties include:
- Organize and manage faculty review of student applicants by managing a database of review results and maintaining records on applicant acceptance.
- Provide support, coordination, or direct handling of graduate admissions, including the provision of the holistic, equitable, and fair evaluation of admissions applications according to best practices, Graduate School policies and procedures, and specific program guidelines and requirements.
- Coordinate, facilitate, execute and assess graduate student recruitment into the assigned program(s), achieving annual enrollment goals.
- Build relationships with prospects and applicants, maintaining regular communication with the applicant funnel (application, admitted, yield, enrolled) through telephone, email, and video call, with the intent to influence decisions to enroll.
- Construct and present prospective student events in both virtual and in-person modalities.
- Develops and maintains recruitment resources, processes, and tools.
- Other duties as assigned.
Required minimum qualifications include a Bachelor’s Degree in a related field and two years of related full-time, professional-level experience.
Preferred qualifications include a Master’s Degree in a related field and three or more years of related experience in a public higher education institute, preferably in graduate level recruitment and enrollment.
