Duties and Responsibilities

  • *Supports the Academic and Student Affairs Office (ASAO) by co-strategizing, co-planning, and co-implementing the college’s onboarding, recruitment, retention, and internship events and activities.
  • *Conducts recruitment presentations to prospective students, teachers, and their families about CTAHR’s academic programs.
  • *Supports the CTAHR Ambassador Program by coordinating workshops for skill development, connecting students with the community, and planning the annual CTAHR Ambassador retreat event.
  • *Assists the Scholarship program with the organization, coordination, implementation, and tracking of service hours required by all CTAHR scholarship recipients.
  • *Supports the internship program with promotion and executing the internship readiness of potential interns.
  • *Serves as the liaison between CTAHR students and undergraduate and graduate student organizations at the college. This includes working with faculty advisors, officers, and students to support student engagement.
  • *Coordinates student training (leadership, teamwork, communication, etc.) to support student retention.
  • *Works to collect, organize, and summarize data into useful information for the college’s onboarding, recruitment, retention, alums, assessment, and internship events and activities.
  • *Supports the Academic and Student Affairs Office (ASAO) by identifying and preparing proposals for extramural funding to support events and activities.
  • *Provides administrative and academic support for the CTAHR Academic and Student Affairs Office (ASAO).
  • *Creates monthly and weekly email campaigns for onboarding, recruitment, retention, and internship purposes for distribution to CTAHR faculty, students, alumni, and stakeholders.
  • *Provides training to and supervises graduate assistant(s) and student assistant(s) to assist with ASAO activities.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Possession of a bachelor’s degree in business, psychology, education, sociology, economics, or related field and 0 years of progressively responsible professional experience with academic and student affairs responsibilities; or any equivalent combination of education and/or professional work experience which provides the required education, knowledge, skills and abilities as indicated.
  • Functional knowledge of principles, practices, and techniques in the area of academic and student affairs demonstrated by knowledge, understanding, and ability to apply concepts, terminology.
  • Functional knowledge and understanding of principles, theories, federal and state laws, rules, regulations and systems associated with academic and student affairs.
  • Demonstrated ability to recognize problems, identify possible causes and resolve the full range of problems that may commonly occur in the area of academic and student affairs.
  • Demonstrated ability to understand oral and written documentation, write reports and procedures, and communicate effectively in a variety of situations.
  • Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with internal and external organizations, groups, team members and individuals.
  • Demonstrated ability to operate a personal computer, apply word processing software, and spreadsheet software.

Desirable Qualifications

  • Experience in recruitment and retention of student activities
  • Familiarity and experience working with UH Manoa and CTAHR academic programs and student services.
  • Some knowledge of University programs and organizations related to student leadership and involvement.
  • Some experience working with students, faculty, and administrators in both lower and higher education.
