Controller
The controller makes decisions that have a significant impact on the financial operations of the company, employees, and customers. The controller is expected to be able to recognize and resolve problems and implement opportunities for improvement on own initiative. The controller is responsible for all financial reporting, general accounting (i.e. payroll, billing, accounts payable, cash receipts), the operating budget, and works on special projects and other duties as assigned. Must possess the following skills and attributes: excellent oral and written communication; human relations, organizational and planning, creativity, decision making, technical skill in accounting and finance, successfully multi-task, computer and PC skills.
General analytical ability, logical thinking, leadership ability to analyze events and perceive trends, proficiency in concept formation and conceptualization of complex and ambiguous relationships, ability to delegate, ability to recognize opportunity and potential problems. Proficient in the use of related software and PC applications including Power Point, Word, Excel, etc. Attendance and punctuality a must. College degree/accounting major (CPA and/or MBA desirable). 5 years or more experience preferred - public accounting, internal auditing, and/or newspaper accounting.
