ENGINEER or ARCHITECT

An Engineer or Architect with the Naval Facilities Engineering Systems Command, Pacific (NAVFAC PAC) Design Division, you will have the opportunity to design exciting and unique facilities throughout the Pacific and Indian Ocean areas, accomplished through in-house design, or managing designs through private Architect and Engineering (A/E) design firm contracts.

As an Engineer or Architect you will:

  • Develop complex in-house designs and analyses utilizing advanced software.

 

  • Perform Quality Control reviews of projects prepared by in-house engineers and architects.

 

  • Perform Quality Assurance reviews of drawings, specifications, calculations, cost estimates, and studies prepared by private A/E design firms, and provide technical guidance to A/E firms regarding criteria application.

 

  • Serve as the Contracting Officer’s Representative (COR) for projects designed by private A/E contracts, including preparation of statements of work, government estimates of the design fee, evaluation of fee proposals, and assist in negotiations.

 

  • Serve as a Design Manager, performing technical administration of designs, design management, and coordination efforts with other engineers and architects involved in multi-discipline projects.

 

  • Provide post construction award services (PCAS) including technical responses to Requests for Information (RFIs), and review and approval of contractor’s submittals to determine conformance to requirements of contract drawings and specifications.

Salary:  $88,521 - $114,366

A Cost-of-Living-Allowance (COLA) of 9.28% will be added to the stated salary

Position Requirements:

  • SECRET Clearance
  • Valid State Driver's License
  • Bachelor’s Degree: Engineering – Civil, Structural, Mechanical, Electrical OR Architecture
  • Professional Engineering License (PE) or Registered Architect (RA)
