Day and Night Shift
Beginning salary is $25/hr. plus $1/hr. shift differential for night shift (6:30pm - 6:30am).
Sign-on bonus
$750 sign-on/retention bonus that is paid out over the course of six months.
Full benefits and vacation after 60 days.
POSITION SUMMARY:

Basic Function:
The production line mechanic will be responsible for all production maintenance, including product quality control, line maintenance, and repair of line machinery and equipment. This role involves applying mechanical expertise in determining work methods and procedures for producing quality product. Responsibilities:
• Follow, without exception, all work instructions and safety policies, including use of all PPE and safety equipment
• Examine machine controls to install plate changeovers and start up machines for production needs when required
• Perform routine preventive maintenance checks on all production equipment and machinery
• Repair basic mechanical components and replace parts on machines such as bearings, filters, wiring, valves, gauges and switches
• Observe and listen to mechanical devices in operation to locate causes of problem
• Dismantle devices to gain access to and remove defective parts
• Adjust functional parts of devices and control instruments
• Inspect used parts to determine changes in dimensional requirements
• Lubricate and clean machinery and support equipment to maintain housekeeping and preventive maintenance standards within the plant
• Document and track changeover times and record
• Accomplish all work orders to maintain safety; reduce downtime; decrease scrap; improve quality production; and improve plant efficiency
• Follows all safety rules and procedures including Lockout/Tagout program, housekeeping, and 5S standards and observes the operations to insure a safe work environment
• Required to participate in on-call program and flex with assigned work schedule as business needs dictate
• Perform other related duties as assigned
Requirements:
• High School Diploma or GED preferred; Formal Engineering/Maintenance Training a plus
• 3 years minimum experience in a maintenance role within a manufacturing facility, preferably plastic industry.
• 3 years minimum experience with one or more technical experiences: Electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, electronic, computer-controlled equipment, PLC and HVAC
• 3 years minimum experience on a variety of equipment including lubricating, cleaning, material handling, motor control, relay control, process control and packaging equipment.
• Ability to inspect equipment, recognize potential problems and independently take appropriate corrective action to prevent component failures or equipment down time.
• Sufficient reading and writing ability to follow work order instructions and record daily logs and update necessary departments
• Ability to operate lift truck, boom lift and scissors lift
• Basic math skills to use micrometers, scales, levels, and tapes
• Basic computer skills to enter work orders on maintenance system and communicate with team members & management
• Prior welding experience helpful
• Technical Competencies to operate hand, power, and pneumatic tools
• Must be able to work in a team environment
• Must be able to trace problems on machines using accepted maintenance procedures and techniques
• Must be able to anticipate, evaluate, and consider the consequences of various actions.
• Sufficient visual acuity to read instructions; digital screens operate machines, trace machinery problems by sight.
• Demonstrate good job attendance and punctuality
• Ability to read and understand engineering drawings
• Prior industrial manufacturing experience required
• Must be willing to work flexible hours including overtime, nights, weekends and holidays.
• Must have basic mechanics tools and rolling toolbox.
Work Conditions:
• Environmental Conditions: (Dust, fumes, heat, cold, noise, vibration, toxic conditions, work hazards, etc.) Controlled environment, noise from manufacturing equipment, etc. – Activity: Work is performed in doors on concrete floors involving extreme temperatures. Requires safety shoes, ear plugs, and safety glasses. Must be able to occasionally climb stairs and work elevations of more than 20 feet. Work in high noise levels that requires ear plugs. Must be physically able to exert up to 60 pounds of push force and up to 80 pounds of pull force.
• Must be willing to work 12 hours shifts, nights, and/or weekends.
• Must be willing to perform job functions following set safety procedures.
