We are looking for an energetic, outgoing, dynamic, Product Design/Industrial Engineer with 5 years of design and manufacturing experience.
This is a hands-on, roll up your sleeves position. Applicants must have a positive, can-do attitude and bring a creative approach to problem solving.
Responsibilities
- Project management from inception to completion.
- New product development incorporating structural, mechanical, and electrical design.
- Develop new design concepts and refine existing product designs.
- Maintain and create bill of materials, routings, estimating production times, resolving discrepancies between standard and actual costs, costing of new products, assisting in inventory control/reconciliation, and special projects as assigned.
- Conduct time studies, and develop, evaluate, and improve manufacturing methods and processes.
Requirements
- Product Design/Industrial Engineer:
- Candidates must have a four year Electrical or Industrial Engineering, plus experience in a manufacturing, industrial, or OEM environment is considered beneficial.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and bill of materials.
- Electrical design experience in low and high voltage including solids state timers, relays, solenoids, circuit boards, etc.
- Motor control experience will be considered a plus including variable frequency drives, transducers, motor starters, etc.
- Advanced single and 3 phase electrical knowledge.
- Product design experience with emphasis in sheet metal.
- General:
- Ability to work well under pressure, manage multiple projects with a proven record of delivering results, and building long term relationships.
- Strong communication skills with ability to effectively interface with factory, sales staff, vendors, and customers.
- Proficient in using Microsoft Office products and working knowledge of Microsoft Access.
- Working knowledge of AutoCAD, Inventor or other 3D modeling program.
- Familiarity in value engineering concepts, Kaizen, Six Sigma.
- Strong technical writing skills.
