News Editor
Hawaii Public Radio's growing News team has two positions available:
News Editor - Work with several reporters on story selection, development and copy editing, while dealing with breaking and developing news throughout the broadcast day. Some on-air work possible.
College degree in relevant field, 5 years or more experience in professional journalism (two years supervisory), excellent writing & editing skills, solid news judgement, and familiarity with public radio required. Experience in broadcast and breaking news, working in teams on deadline, and knowledge of Hawaii preferred.
Producer, The Conversation -Follow news, developments, and trends around the state, recommend guest segments, write for the program, interview guests, produce audio, and execute control room responsibilities during the broadcast of the live daily program.
College degree, familiarity with public radio & Hawaii, excellent writing & communication skills, and ability to work as part of a team required. Professional journalism experience, especially broadcast journalism preferred.
