Job Title: Sales Representative

Summary: This is an outside sales position responsible for promoting the company's products and services and for building relationships with new and existing accounts. The focus is to help customers succeed while achieving sales, profit and account receivables goals established by the company. Duties and Responsibilities:

Essential Functions

E Develop new business, penetrate existing accounts, and minimize lost business to achieve profitable sales growth and strategic objectives within assigned territory.
E Assist with collecting accounts receivable as necessary, working with the credit department and client; collect all balances due based on approved credit terms.
E Research and understand customer business needs and develop a mix of products and service to meet needs.
E Evaluate market trends and recommend products to customers, based on business needs and goals.
E Pursue information that relates to market conditions, product innovations, and competitors' products and prices. Share information with customers as part of value-added services provided.
E Input customer orders and manage customers pricing to facilitate the most advantageous profitability.
E Answer customers' questions about products, prices, availability, and product use with in 24 hours.
E Drive personal vehicle to customer accounts, conventions, company meetings, etc.
E Manage deliveries to the routing schedule published by the transportation department.
E Troubleshoot any problems that occur during the order process (for example, out of stock items, special order items, VIS- deliveries, low inventory, etc.).
E Participate in company functions, promotions, customer visits, and customer events.
E Attend and participate in general sales and training meetings.
E Engage in ongoing training sessions. Work closely with Local brokers/regional manufactures developing new business and product lines.
E Utilize company issued tablets or laptops for customer presentations and viewing sales reports. Email response must be completed within 24 hours/unless deadline is noted.
E Review and analyze daily and weekly reports such as special-order requests, customer bid files, and sales/gross profit margin data.
E Perform administrative duties, such as preparing sales budgets and reports, reviewing weekly horizontal reports, maintaining sales records, processing credits, and pick-up requests, preparing sales quotes and menu suggestions, and prepare and turn in weekly sales and AR reports to management.
E Work closely with Operations/Distribution/Purchasing/Customer Service Departments in-regards to sales needs.
E Other duties as may be assigned

Education and /or Experience - Minimum high School graduate, with some business and food technology knowledge. Hotels/Restaurant background preferred but not required. Leadership in selling skills required.

Other Skills and Abilities - knowledge of food ingredients and non-food products. Excellent oral and written communication skills, as well as customer service and presentation abilities. Should have demonstrated problem solving abilities and negotiation skills. Familiar with Microsoft office and the ability to manipulate price lists and calculate pricing in excel. Medium to advance user of email (Outlook).

Licenses, and Registrations Valid driver's license with a clean driving record (including no single DUI in the last 3 years and no multiple DUIs within the last 7 years). Current automobile insurance with the following limits of liability: Bodily injury - $100,000 each person and $300,000 each accident; property damage - $100,000 is required.

Equipment - Use of Company laptop or tablet for business use only. Such as food research, processing ordering, emails, viewing company social media, evaluating sales reports. Lift and carry laptop that weighs between 1- 40 lbs. Carry laptop to and from the car office and customer service accounts.

Work Environment – While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel and talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to stand and walk. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and ability to adjust focus.

Work Schedule – Exempt position. May be required to attend functions outside of the normal business hours to promote and support the sales department and company's goal and objectives. This position may also require non- traditional hours (evening, weekends, holidays) in order to successfully meet customers needs.
