NETWORK ENGINEER
Grace Pacific is seeking a highly motivated individual who enjoys working on interesting projects using cutting edge technologies.
The Network Engineer will manage our entire network and work with a diverse range of technologies that present many opportunities for the experienced candidate.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES:
• Design, deploy, support, and troubleshoot network systems.
• Maintain the company's network infrastructure, including firewalls, routers, switches, load balancers, and other hardware.
• Monitor network performance and integrity and make necessary adjustments to ensure optimal network efficiency and uptime.
• Ensure system security, including user access and data integrity.
• Create comprehensive network documentation and maintain this knowledge base.
• Participate in remediation of internal and external penetration testing with security patches and updates/replacements of software and hardware.
• Develop and maintain relationships with vendors and contractors to secure necessary products and services.
• Perform network asset management, including maintenance of network component inventory and related documentation.
• Advance our automation efforts across all aspects of our network and infrastructure.
• Create and track project schedules and budgets.
• Provide backup desktop support as required.
Mental & Physical Demands:
• Ability to create and review network design and architecture patterns.
• Advanced abilities in configuring and wiring routers, switches and all server room equipment.
• A talent for graphically representing systems in a highly consistent and elegant way.
• Ability to lift 50 pounds.
PRINCIPAL REQUIREMENTS:
Licenses:
• Valid driver's license and favorable traffic abstract
Education:
• Bachelor's degree in computer science or computer engineering, or equivalent knowledge and experience.
• Professional certifications (e.g., CCNA, CCNP) are highly desirable.
Experience:
• A minimum of 3 years’ experience as a Network Engineer or similar role in network administration preferred.
• Solid understanding of network architecture, including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, firewalls, IP routing, switching, VoIP, QoS, and VPN.
• Strong troubleshooting and critical thinking skills.
• Experience with network diagnostic, monitoring, and analysis tools.
• Ability to manage complex multi-site network systems.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks.
• Detailed knowledge of system security vulnerabilities and remediation techniques, including penetration testing and the development of exploits.
• Willingness to be on call or work outside of traditional business hours as needed; or equivalent combination of experience and education that demonstrates the ability to perform the duties of the position.
