Grace Pacific is seeking a highly motivated, detail oriented Bidding & Pricing Specialist to join our Team!

 

This role has a significant impact on future projects shaping our islands. We work with General Contractors and the government on local and federal levels to create architectural and wayfinding signage for office, commercial, residential, resort and infrastructure projects.

 

Essential Duties:

 

Reviews various sources of product information and seeks out appropriate projects to fulfill the Company’s market objectives and goals. Provides reports as requested.
Reviews contract documents of prospective projects and conducts pre-bid site investigation / inspection to verify pertinent existing conditions.  Performs quantitative takeoffs for project estimates, recognizes time frame of work, accounts for future escalations, and submits bid/estimate proposal in a timely manner. Follows up on bid results.
Defines project scope of work with management, sales team and sign shop personnel.  Provides sign shop personnel with pertinent information (plans, specs, submittal file, etc.) to perform work.  
Submits Requests For Information (RFI) when needed, and provides estimating support for change order requirements.
Solicits subcontractor and material supplier quotes and reviews for selection process.  Provides good faith effort as required for minority participation goals.
Reviews subcontract agreements for alignment with quoted proposal (scope of work, quantities, and pricing).
Processes submittals and initiates procurement.
Retains historical data on productivity/cost, activity processes and project issues as reference and guidelines to prepare estimates.
Provides cost estimates for all Company sales representatives for all types of signs including installation and/or removal, as needed.  Signs may include, but are not limited to, regulatory and warning signs, digital banners and wraps, channel letters and lightboxes, digital media displays and metal/plastic cut letters.  
Maintains current knowledge of industry products to represent the Company as a credible resource regarding new products and product options, to serve as a resource person for the sales staff and to establish competitive pricing.

Principal Requirements

 

1. Must be available after hours, nights, and weekends to facilitate bid date deadlines and job site installation schedules.
2. Ability to work on various construction jobsites.
3. Able to lift 50 pounds regularly, climb ladders
4. Able to walk through an active loading zone, warehouse, and rentals yard while being vigilant of hazards
5. Able to work under pressure or in a deadline driven environment; the use of judgment or discretion; working with minimal (or considerable) supervision; the ability to follow instructions; quick decision-making in a fast-paced environment; use of discretion and independent judgment; collaboration and cooperation with colleagues.
6. Working knowledge of Word, Excel, Email; aptitude to learn in-house systems; keyboarding skills sufficient to complete daily tasks in a timely manner.
7. 10 key, various office machines, general knowledge of office operations.
8. Math skills to perform pricing calculations and generating reports as requested.
9. Must be able to read and understand business documents and basic construction plan sheets.
10. Degree in sales, marketing, business management, construction, civil engineering, general studies preferred.  May substitute education with years of experience.
11. Minimum (1) year experience in a similar operation, sales/retail environment, civil construction, engineering/design firm; direct experience with signs and graphics preferred.

Valid driver’s license and favorable traffic abstract preferred.
