Plumbing Maintenance Worker
Plumbing Maintenance Worker will be responsible for the new installation, preventative & general maintenance and repair of water & wastewater systems on Gay & Robinson, Inc. properties. General areas of responsiblity for the wastewater system includes support for the wastewater infrastructure, sewer collection systems, septic tanks and cesspools with their associated leach fields.
Position requires working indoors, outdoors and in confined space requirements. May require standing, crawling, sitting, kneeling or squatting for extended periods of time. Working conditions will expose employee to excessive heat, humidity, wetness, dirt and/or dust.
The G&R water system serves approximately 350 homes and businesses in the Kaumakani and Makaweli areas. It consists of two source wells, three water tanks and several miles of distribution and transmission lines. Waster water for these facilities are served by cesspools, septic tanks and two wastewater treatment plants.
Must have valid Hawaii State Driver's License and be able to lift 50 lbs. Work Hours are generally Monday through Friday from 6:00 am to 2:30 pm. Emergency and over time hours may be required. The nature of work may expose the worker to pathogens. Vaccinations are not required but highly recommended.
This is an apprentice position. Knowledge of construction methods and equipment, practices, tools, materials and equipment used inthe installation, maintenance and repair of water distribution lines, wastewater collection systems and appurtenances is recommended but NOT required.
