Accountant VI (Payroll Manager)

The Accountant VI (Payroll Manager) heads the Payroll Section in the Pre-Audit Branch of the Accounting Division. The Payroll Section is responsible for maintain the State’s payroll system which is used to pay employees of the executive branch, legislative branch, judicial branch and the Office of Hawaiian Affairs. This position is responsible to plan, organize, coordinate and direct the operations of the State’s payroll section. This incumbent of this position needs to possess the knowledge of applicable State and Federal laws that relate to payroll and payroll taxes and possess management, supervisory, and interpersonal skills. We are looking for someone who has strong leadership, organizational and communicative skills, and is a team player.
