Title: Housing Assistance Specialist IV (SR-22)
Salary: $56,304 per year

Position Information:
Supervises and performs the full range of assignments in the housing assistance program and/or serves as a program specialist responsible for the development and implementation of specialized housing assistance programs; and performs other related duties as required.
There is one vacancy with the Department of Community Services, Community Assistance Division.
The current vacancy is responsible for providing daily oversight and supervision to lower-level Section 8 Housing Assistance Specialists; performing the full range of assignments in the housing assistance program (e.g., determining eligibility for rental assistance, investigating and processing claims for unpaid rent and damages; etc.); monitoring case management activities for quality control; and making recommendations for policy and procedure changes within the housing assistance program, as appropriate.

Minimum Qualification Requirements:
At the time of application, you must be a citizen, national or permanent resident alien of the United States or a non-citizen eligible under federal law for unrestricted employment.
EDUCATION REQUIREMENT:
Equivalent to graduation from an accredited four-year college or university.
Work experience may be substituted for a bachelor's degree on a year-for-year basis. Such experience must have provided the knowledge, skills, and analytical ability normally gained from attainment of a bachelor's degree.
EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENT:
Three years of professional (i.e., post-bachelor's degree, non-clerical) work experience which involved interviewing clients to elicit information; verifying and analyzing the information obtained; and determining clients' needs and/or entitlements based on the application of pertinent principles, practices, policies, standards, and/or guidelines, two years of which shall have been in determining eligibility for public or social assistance programs (e.g., housing or rental assistance).
