Account Clerk (SR-11)

Title: Account Clerk (SR-11)
Salary: $36,564 per year
Reviews, posts to, revises and summarizes fiscal records and statements; compiles data and prepares reports; and performs other related duties as required.
There are currently two (3) vacancies. One (1) vacancy with the Honolulu Fire Department, Administrative Services Bureau, one (1) vacancy with the Department of Customer Services, Motor Vehicle, Licensing and Permits and one (1) vacancy with the Department of Community Services, Community Assistance Division. This list may be used to fill future vacancies in this and/or other departments.
Minimum Qualification Requirements:
Equivalent to graduation from high school.
Three (3) years of clerical experience, two (2) years of which shall have been in account record keeping work.
Such experience must have demonstrated knowledge of bookkeeping principles and practices; office practices and procedures; grammar, spelling, and word usage; filing methods and systems; use of standard office machines. Such experience must have also demonstrated the ability to maintain fiscal accounts and records; detect errors in posting and calculations; prepare financial reports and statements; interpret fiscal records and data; work harmoniously with others; etc.
Substitution: An Associate degree in Accounting from an accredited college or university will substitute for one year of clerical experience and up to one year of account record keeping experience. A Bachelor's degree in Accounting from an accredited four-year college or university will substitute for all of the required experience.
