Health and Human Services Deputy Director

Under executive direction, plans, organizes and directs the overall administrative and programmatic activities of the agency, including eligibility, protective services, public health nursing programs, health education programs and health clinic. The Deputy Director acts in the Director’s absence and performs related work as required.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS Path 1. An undergraduate degree in Social Work, Public Administration, Public Health or other related field and four years of full time supervisory experience in social services, public health or other related organization with experience in personnel, administration, and program management.
Path 2. A graduate degree in Social Work, Public Administration, Public Health or other related field and two years of full time supervisory experience in social services, public health or other related organization with experience in personnel, administration, and program management.
COMPENSATION & 100% FTE in a five step salary system with advancement upon satisfactory completion
BENEFITS of a one year probationary period and annual increases thereafter.
Salary Range U18 : ($7,140-$7,882) MONTHLY
- Health Insurance: County provides medical, dental and vision coverage for employee and dependents with co-payment by employee dependent on family status.
- Vacation: Accrued at the rate of 6.67 hours per month, or 10 vacation days per year.
- Sick Leave: Earned at the rate of 8 hours per month.
- Holidays: 15 paid holidays per year.
- Administrative Leave: per status and years of service
- Retirement: Participation in the California Public Employee Retirement System (PERS), 2% at 62 plan New Members
- Deferred Compensation: the County has a voluntary deferred compensation program.
